Overcoming the Epidemic, Ensuring Stable Development
In recent days, the battle against the epidemic has been on everyone's mind. Efforts to contain the virus led to delayed work resumption and temporary shutdowns, causing the manufacturing sector to face a period of short-term stagnation. As a major manufacturer of large and medium-sized electric motors, Taihao Shendian also encountered unprecedented challenges and tests.
Even after resuming operations, the epidemic prevention and control effort remained at a critical stage. Taihao Shendian maintained strict prevention measures while simultaneously pushing for production, accelerating schedules, and ensuring quality—effectively balancing epidemic control with corporate development.
Recently, overcoming numerous difficulties caused by the epidemic, the company's departments united to successfully complete factory acceptance testing and delivery for two TAW series motors (Model TAW1400-16/2150; 6kV; IP44; Increased Safety type; brushless excitation synchronous motor). These units are destined for key chemical industry facilities in Northeast China.

This product was developed entirely in-house by Taihao Shendian. The main motor, AC exciter, and rotating rectifier assembly are housed in separate yet interconnected compartments, facilitating pre-start purging procedures. The motor casing features a dedicated observation window for monitoring sparks and corona discharge. The exciter and rectifier assembly are positioned externally at the non-drive end, offering an aesthetically pleasing design that simplifies maintenance and inspection. Key characteristics include a long tE time, high safety and reliability, low vibration, and comprehensive explosion-proof safety measures. The excitation control system is highly reliable, featuring accurate, shock-free slip-frequency field application with correct polarity. It offers dependable out-of-step protection and strong resynchronization capabilities, along with a rational circuit design and a wide excitation current adjustment range. The motor's electrical performance meets advanced domestic standards, with technical specifications—such as torque and efficiency—surpassing those of similar domestic products.
The successful development of this motor serves as a further demonstration of Taihao Shendian’s capabilities in the modular and serialized production of "Increased Safety" motors, playing a positive role in enhancing the company's market competitiveness.
Meanwhile, two high-efficiency Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors independently developed and manufactured by the company—the TYCKK 500-6 (560kW, 10kV, IP54) and TYCKK 500-6 (500kW, 10kV, IP54)—successfully met all expected test results and design specifications on the first attempt. Notably, the temperature rise of these motors is 30% lower than that of standard asynchronous motors of the same power rating, and they are now ready for delivery.

In recent years, driven by national energy conservation and emission reduction initiatives, high-voltage permanent magnet synchronous motors have gained increasing favor in the market due to their superior performance and exceptional efficiency. They offer significant advantages over standard Y-series motors: the power factor exceeds 0.98, and efficiency is generally 2% to 8% higher. In particular, efficiency rises rapidly as the load increases, maintaining high performance across a broad load range of 25% to 120%.
Beyond their outstanding energy-saving capabilities, these high-efficiency Permanent Magnet Motors feature a high power factor that significantly reduces operating current and temperature rise, thereby extending service life. They also lower current in the power distribution network and reduce cable heating, while decreasing the reactive power compensation capacity required by the enterprise. Furthermore, their starting torque ratio exceeds that of asynchronous motors of the same power, enhancing performance during heavy-load startups.
The successful design of these motors provides a new boost to energy-saving retrofit projects in the iron and steel industry. At the same time, the growing maturity of Taihao Shendian’s permanent magnet motor manufacturing capabilities offers robust technical support for the industry market.
