Centenary of the Founding of the CPC | Embracing Our Historic Mission, Honoring the Journey of Struggle

August 13, 2026

On June 26, 2021 (Saturday), as the nation celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Party Committee of Taihao Shenyang Electric Motor Co., Ltd. organized a visit for Party members to the Exhibition Hall of the Former Site of the Shenyang Trial of Japanese War Criminals (hereinafter referred to as the "Exhibition Hall"). The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of Party history and ensure they remain true to the Party's original mission.

Located at No. 77 Heilongjiang Street, Huanggu District, Shenyang, the Exhibition Hall was established on the site of the former Special Military Tribunal for the Trial of Japanese War Criminals. After the site was restored to its original appearance, the hall officially opened to the public on May 18, 2014. It has since been designated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee as one of 111 National Patriotism Education Demonstration Bases. It is the fourth cultural and museum venue in Shenyang to receive this honor, following the "9·18" Historical Museum, the Shenyang Martyrs' Cemetery for the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and the Shenyang Industrial Museum.

Accompanied by a guide, the Party members entered the hall. They were immediately struck by a massive banner hanging above the main entrance bearing the characters "Trial of Justice" (Zheng Yi Shen Pan)—a sight that stirred deep, powerful emotions within them.

It was a period of history that was magnificent yet deeply etched in memory. It embodied a spirit that transcends time, illuminating the future. On August 15, 1945, Japan announced its unconditional surrender, marking the total defeat of the aggressors in World War II. Following its defeat in the war of aggression against China, Japan was brought before the bar of history to face a just trial by the Chinese people. These were days of immense significance—days that were painful to look back upon yet filled with pride, days of brutal tragedy yet glorious triumph, days of profound indignation yet soaring national spirit. As the members moved past the precious historical photographs, the compelling artifacts and handwritten documents before them seemed to recount that momentous era—a time defined by boundless humiliation and rage, yet also by the nation's unyielding spirit and the people's determined march forward.

The most striking and stirring feature of the exhibition hall is the restored courtroom; created at a 1:1 scale and featuring a group of sculptures, it faithfully recreates the scene of the original trial. It offers a comprehensive display of the public trials held in Shenyang from April 9 to July 20, 1956, by the Special Military Tribunal of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China. The exhibition depicts the 36 Japanese war criminals bowing their heads in admission of guilt as they listened to the righteous Chinese people pass judgment on the atrocities they had committed during the war. The Shenyang trials truly reflected the will and aspirations of the Chinese people and represented a triumph of justice over evil; all 36 defendants admitted their guilt and accepted their sentences, creating a miracle in the history of international war crime trials.

Looking back at the Party's century-long journey from 1921 to 2021, we study its history and draw strength from the heroic martyrs to carry forward our founding mission. Our Party has grown from a small group of just over 50 members at its inception into the world's largest ruling party, boasting more than 90 million members today; it has evolved from the "little red boat" on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing into the mighty vessel "China," forging ahead through wind and waves—a century of history marked by an arduous yet triumphant journey.
